The Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology was inaugurated. |

The first examination of Japanese cytotechnologist was carried out by the Japanese Society of Clinical Cytology and the Japanese Society of Clinical Pathology. |

The Japanese Society of Cytotechnologists was inaugurated. |

Undergraduate students who have undertaken specialized Cytotechnology program at the four-year universities became eligible to take the examination with the prospect of graduation. |
